We should all write! One thing that would be worth mentioning is how it would affect tourism and $$$$$ in the state. This approach may help. Since Virginia was settled so soon in the history of this country, MANY ancestors come from Virginia. So many researchers travel here spending dollars on hotels, gasoline, food, etc. I can't remember which is 1st and 2nd, but gardening and genealogy are the top hobbies in the whole country! And we like to spend money on our hobbies. If the state/counties would just bit the bullet and spend the money to scan the information to put in the internet and on CDs then they wouldn't have such facilities, storage, or manpower problems. These are not just papers, but public records and historical documents and should be protected.
