I sincerely appreciate the discussion regarding the Hisey's. If I may, I'd like to share my thoughts on this, specifically on # 2c below regarding Jacob Hisey marrying a Susan Kendall. Hopefully someone can shed additional light on what I see as a possible error situation! I understand that you are quoting from a book, " Oh Shenandoah, I love Your Daughter." However books can be, and often ARE wrong. On the #2c below, I would really like to see some sourcing, because I can not find a marriage of Susan Kendall to any Hisey in the state of Virginia! Granted, just because I can't find it, doesn't mean that it didn't happen; But where is the source? Appears to me Jacob was a one-woman man for over 42 years. What I do know from my own personal research is that: Jacob Hisey, was born May 11, 1785 in Shenandoah County, Va. Died May 6, 1869 in Warren County, Ohio Married Amelia Williams on March 21, 1808 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. AND, in the 1850 Census of Warren County, Ohio was listed as still married to Amelia, who was 64, she born in Maryland. Question: When and Where did he marry a Susan Kendall?
