The original marriage bonds that I have seen give no more information than what is in the transcribed summaries. What they do give are the actual signatures of the groom and other bondsman. This can be important in deciding if the transcription was correct and the identification of an individual by his signature. In one case I had though, the signature of the bondsman was in the handwriting of the clerk. The individual had signed his own marriage bond with an x. Jim Scofield
