The Bible was owned by Ben beginning in 1798 and was contributed by a direct descendant who now owns the Bible, Sally Bruce Blackford McClatchey. http://www.rootsweb.com/~vashenan/blackford_bible_intro.html The entries in the Bible include birth and some death dates and places for the children of Benjamin plus the births of the Negro slaves' children. Benjamin and wife's (Isabella)birth dates are also included. It is rare to receive a "pot of gold" contribution for the site and I thank Sally Bruce so very much for being so generous. More updates are coming soon....well, eventually. :) 'Tis summertime. Don and I are busy with things other than genealogy. There are links to repair and links to add; Confederates have some errors; obits to be added; pictures to add, I think. Please don't think we're ignoring what you contribute just because it isn't on the site, yet. There are over 1000 pages on the site and it is difficult to keep up with the site and still do those things one does on a daily basis. Y'all keep sending us things and we'll keep adding things soon as we find time.
