Patti, I've had a similar problem with my gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather Isaac Shockey. The History of Franklin County, PA by Beers said he volunteered in the Rev War in Franklin County. NARA did not find any records on him and suggested I send off for state militia records. You might also try Public Claims Booklets that were done for each county. I found some either in a Willow Bend or a Heritage Books catalogue. Good luck, Nancy
