Hi folks, I just found a clue that makes me want to know more about a Booth family in Shenandoah County, VA. Sarah Corder m. Richard Booth in 1822 in Shenandoah County, VA. It appears that they were living in Gooney Manor in 1820. My ancestor, Reuben Corder b. ca 2828-2830, became the ward of Martin and Elizabeth (Corder) Pence in Champaign County, OH in 1830. In 1844 a Mary Ann Corder b. abt 1822 m. Elza Twigg probably of Allegany, PA. John Booth is living with Elza and Mary A Twigg in Adams County, IN in 1860 along with several Twigg hh's OH and MD and a Ben Runion hh. The Runion hh is also from VA. I just found a John B who is the right age, living with Frederick of PA and Mary of VA Booth in Davis Twp., Shenandoah County in 1850. In 1870 a John Booth who is the right age and from the right state is living next door to Mary Booth in Edinburg, VA. I am attempting to figure out how John Booth was related to Mary Ann Corder Twigg. Figuring out the relationship between Richard and Frederick may help me figure out who were the parents of Reuben Corder and Mary Ann Corder Twigg. Their parents were probably either Sarah Corder and ??? before she m. Richard Booth or Wm Corder who m. Catherine Philips in 1809 in Shenandoah Co., VA. Since Reuben and MaryAnn both m. in ChampCo where Elizabeth Corder Pence was living, they are probably also related to her. Also, Oliver Lillard of Shenandoah County, VA was the witness for MaryAnn Corder when she m. in ChampCo in 1844. Oliver L. m. a dau of Martin and Elizabeth Pence. Perhaps there is a Booth researcher out there who can help me sort this out. Thanks, Nancy Corder Halvorson Santa Fe, NM
