I have a note that says Adam Pence was among those who served in Capt. Jacob Holman's company in old Dunmore County during the Revolutionary War - but I seem to have misfiled the source as I can't find it. Anyone? Richard A. Richard, I have my Jacob Blessing also as a Soldier in Capt. Jacob Holman’s Company, called-up to repel British invasion of Virginia Colony. See 1780 – 1781, Militia of Dunmore Co, VA, Revolutionary War. (Records, Vol. 1, Virginia, page 607; Gaius Marcus Brumbaugh.) This was the Defense of the New Jersey Shore, south of New York City. I learned a lot about The Revolutionary War from following this entry into obscure history books, the stuff that movies -- until Ken Burns -- were not made of. The great beginnings of 1776 were NOT accomplished until 1780-1781. Sue McC On Oct 6, 2007, at 9:52 AM, Richard A.
