    3. WEEKS CEM. – This cem. is not mentioned on the vashen web page. This cem., aka Brook Union Cem., is located in the general vicinity of Toms Brook, Shen Co VA. Take Rd No. 653 NW out of Toms Brook, VA, off of Rd No. 11 (Valley turnpike), and proceed to a lane on the right side of 653, leading to the home of Commander R. Bankson, U. S. Navy Retired, which is marked by the Bankson mailbox, approx. one half mile NW of Toms Brook. The lane leads to the Bankson residence on the top of a knoll, and the cem. lies beneath two locust trees approx. 100 yards NE of the Bankson residence. The cem. is unfenced and now contains only one grave with an inscribed tombstone. Ground depressions and un-inscribed fieldstone markers indicate other burials. Page 149, “A History of Shen. County”, by Dr. John Wayland, eminent historian, indicates that in 1842, the old log church which stood on a hill about one half mile West of the present RR station (at Toms Brook) was erected and known as Brook Union. The land on which this burial ground stands was purchased by Rubin Hollar, from Isaiah Coffman. Margaret Ann Weeks 10 Sep 1832 — 9 Feb 1848 15-4—29 (Footstone M. A. W. Stone manufactured by Gadess & Cecil Ball) >Jan, I would be very interested in the Weeks Cemetery. I have been trying for years to find any Weeks/Weaks in Shenandoah County. Vicki<
