Want to jump in here while the Pence names are being mentioned.... .Does anyone have info on the parents of both John Pence b. 1780 and d 1848 whom supposedly married a Sarah Branner b. 1786 and d 1865 all in Shenandoah Valley. Their daughter Catherine Pence b. 1812 d 1845 and I believe married John Peters b 1810 d 1878... Can anyone verify the above info as being accurate? Thanks,, Carolyn McNeal Frobase
I forget to mention that there is a booklet/manuscript which contains much information on the descendants of John Pence and Sarah Branner as well as information on the ancestors of Sarah: Branner, John C.: Casper Branner of Virginia and his Descendants, 1913. Dr. Branner is a former president of Sanford University (California). I have photocopies of some of the pages and I am not sure where I got them. Perhaps there is a copy in the library at Woodstock or the one at Winchester (which has a great many books and manuscripts on the Pence family).
