Possibly someone from this List can help. In the 1850 census for Champaign County, Ohio there is a Jesse Bushong age 25 living in the household of Abram and Sarah Hess. They were all born in the Valley of Virginia. Does anyone have any information on this Hess family? What was Sarah's maiden name? Was it Bushong or something else. Is this Jesse Bushong the son of Peter Bushong? Did these people leave Virginia, go to Ohio and then come back to Virginia because they didn't like it? Many questions and no answers at this point. Abraham Hess married Sarah Zirkle in Shenandoah County, 29 July 1831. She was the daughter of Lewis and he was the son of John. This comes from Virginia Historic Marriage Register, Shenandoah County Marriage Bonds, 1772-1850, by John Vogt and T. William Kethley, Jr. Whether this is your Abraham Hess is up for grabs.
