My cousins and I will be coming to the New Market area in May and we were wondering if anyone could give us an idea of where else we can look for information on the parents and siblings of Daniel Perry Shaver and his wife Nancy Sarah Kelly. We do have the names of Sarah's parents but nothing about siblings and we have absolutely NOTHING about Daniel's parents and siblings. We have a copy of the flyleaf of their family bible which only gives us their children, etc. and we have a copy of Daniel's will which doesn't help us either. We are planning on going through land deeds and whatever else we can find at the library and the historical society but just wondered if anyone might have ideas about other places to look. Just in case Daniel's name doesn't ring any bells with anyone he was the father of Elder James Perry Shaver/Shaffer. Perry's daughter was Phoebe Shaffer Zirkle who celebrated her 100th birthday in 1978 while a resident of the Bridgewater Home. I don't know if any of those names will click with someone but any information anyone has will be appreciated. I am at the point that I am beginning to believe that Daniel crawled out from under a rock, got a wife, and started the mess we call our family. Just kidding of course, but we are getting very frustrated. Thanks again for any and all help.
