Back to the "old James Gordon". I read a small mention of a James Gordon in a book titled "Settlers of the Long Grey Trail". I'll quote: "Nancy Warren, daughter of Thomas Warren, and wife Elizabeth, nee Harrison, married May 298, 1821, John Gordon of Rockingham, a descendant of James Gordon, an early vestryman of Augusta, who settled on Muddy Creek, about 1754."
