The approved claims are in the minutes of County Court Minutes for 1782-3 which sat as the Court of Claims certificates. County claims certificates/receipts were issued to the citizen by persons authorized to beg/neded supplies. The certificates were received by the Commissioner of Continental Loan office in Richmond. I believe it is this information which was compiled for the publication from which Julia has offered lists for Berkeley, Frederick & Shenandoah Cos., VA The certificates were received by the of Virginia Continental Loan Office Commissioner in Richmond who issued Warrants for the Auditor/State treasurer to pay.
