I have Mary "Polly" RUDY/REEDY listed in my database as a daughter of Augustine RUDY/REEDY she married in 1810 and her marriage bond to George "Major" GRANDSTAFF shows the spelling of her name as Polly RUDY daughter of Augustine. While this does not answer your question as to the corruption between RUBY and RUDY (during this time frame of deeds, in Shenandoah County), it does show a corruption between RUDY and REEDY, at this time in history.
