Jackson until he moved to La Porte County, Indiana in April 1835. He was a merchant in Woodstock and also briefly when he moved to Indiana as he went in to partnership with son-in-law John B. Fravel Jr.. He was very active in his community serving as Town Treasurer and School Commissioner once he moved to Indiana. L. Bartholomew, died at his home last Sunday, over 82 years old, and was buried on Tuesday. The funeral was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew.
