Shannon, Abraham Fravel Esq. to Miss Sophia Hass, daughter of Mr. Michael Hass, all of this place. 1819 Michael Hass, sale of residence at Woodstock, Milch cows, etc. Sold tannery earlier. 2 May 1821 On the 20th of March last in New Lexington, Indiana, Dr. Leroy C. Cutter, consort of Mr. Otway Culter, deceased, and daughter of Mr. Michael Hass, late of this place. -------- Abraham Fravel lived in Mt. Jackson until he moved to La Porte County, Indiana in April 1835. He was a merchant in Woodstock and also briefly when he moved to Indiana as he went in to partnership with son-in-law John B. Fravel Jr.. He was very active in his community serving as Town Treasurer and School Commissioner once he moved to Indiana. He was also very active in the Methodist Church along with his son-in-law John B. Fravel. ------ 1830 Federal Census: Virginia Western District, Mt. Fravel 41/Female/White/KeepingHouse/VA Jennie Stewart 16/Female/White/AttendedSchool/IL ABRAHAM FRAVEL 73/Male/White/VA ----- The Porter County Vidette 30 January 1879 Page 3, Column 2 ABRAM FRAVEL Abram Fravel of La Porte, father of Mrs. S. L. Bartholomew, died at his home last Sunday, over 82 years old, and was buried on Tuesday. The funeral was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew.
