LEWIS Colonel 7th Calif. Inf. ----- NOTE: Charles W. Lewis and wife Martha A. Fravel are a mystery. According to a nice biography on Find A Grave for Col. Charles W. Lewis, it stated that after the Civil War he lived in Tubac, Arizona until two years before his death when he moved to San Diego, California. It never mentions that he was married and had a wife. One source states that Martha married sometime after the death in 1871 of Charles W. Lewis but we have not been able to find any evidence of her marriage or death in California or Arizona. We also could not find her in any census except the 1860. Someone needs to send for the Will of Charles W. Lewis and see if it names a wife. -------------------------------------------- TO BE CONTINUED: Researched and Submitted Gloria Bushong
