    2. Good Evening Vashenan Subscribers, A couple of loose ends to tie up in our posts of the Fravel/Bushong family in Shenandoah County. We have found on-line where Albert F. Bushong and wife Elizabeth V. Brinker are buried. Here is the information on that. It is weird that her tombstone is inscribed Mrs. E. V. Bushong. Bushong of Toms Brook are visiting Mrs. Samuel Rudy this week. Mr Charles Marshall of near Mt. Clifton, is spending a few days this week with his sister Mrs. H. J. Fravel, on East Church Street. ------------- We found these obits for Joseph Marshall and Catharine Ann Feller, the Parents of Bertie E. Marshall who married Herbert J. Fravel. Joseph Marshall married Catharine Ann Feller who was the daughter of John G. Feller Jr. and Mary White. The Perry Marshall mentioned in the obit was Joseph Perry Marshall who was living with his sister Bertie E. Fravel in the 1930 census. For more information on the Fravel family check posts in the Archives for July 2010 on David Fravel, s/o George Fravel Sr. and Elizabeth Bushong. -------------- The Shenandoah Herald Friday, 23 February 1906 Page 3, Column 4 DEATH OF JOSEPH MARSHALL Joseph Marshall died at his residence on South Main Street Saturday night, aged 81 years and 6 months. At the beginning of the war he served for a short time with the militia. After the disbandment of that organization, he, being over age did not enter any regular command, but served with what was called "Hoovers Battalion," a small but very gallant company, which kept the enemy at all times close to their command. On one occasion Mr. Marshall captured and disarmed a picket, who had a pistol concealed in his boot. After going a short distance, the picket seeing an opportunity, shot Mr. Marshall and made his escape. Mr. Marshall's wound was serious, but he finally recovered. He had been a member of the Reformed Church. He is survived by his wife and six children, Mr. James Marshall, a contractor of Washington, Mr. Charles Marshall of Rinkerton and Mr. Perry Marshall of this place. and Mrs. Gennie Graham. of Harper's Ferry, Mrs. Ed Holler, of this county and Mrs. H. J. Fravel, of this place. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. N. H. Skyles, assisted by Rev. J. Frederick W. Kitzmeyer, of the Lutheran church, from the Reformed Church on Monday afternoon and his body buried in Massanutten Cemetery. ---------------- The Shenandoah Herald Woodstock, Virginia Friday, 5 July 1907 Page 3, Column 3 DEATH OF MRS CATHARINE MARSHALL Mrs. Catharine Marshall, widow of the late Joseph Marshall, died at her residence in this place, last Monday morning, aged 78 years. She has been a member of the Lutheran Church, for a number of years. She is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Ed. Hollar of Green Hill, Mrs. George W. Graham of Harpers Ferry, and Mrs. H. J. Fravel, of this place and four sons Messrs. Charles G. Marshall of Mt. Clifton, J. P. Marshall of Woodstock and J. L. Marshall of Washington D C. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. J. D.
