Julie, Sorry I missed your originial post and question while I was changing computers; but as to the name SHAW in connection with the other surnames mentioned in the records, you might find the following SHAW information interesting in your research as it appears the family has already removed from Virginia. The BLACKWOOD deed shows the relationship between John as the son of a William BLACKWOOD. There is also quite a bit of real estate activity concerning the LAWRENCEs in the same areas. Thank you! I believe this family and some neighbors moved from Shenandoah County to utherford County TN around this time. Do you think there is anywhere else I could look for the court case of lizabeth Blackwood and William Lawrence/Robert Shaw? I am new at enealogy, and I really don't know what I should be looking for. Like I entioned, I have seen this case referenced in several researchers notes, ut I have not been able to make contact with those researchers, or find the nformation. I feel confident that if it was found once, it can be found gain :). I am planning a trip to VA in the spring, so hopefully I will nd her. f you don't mind, I have another quick question. I found a reference for lliam J. Blackwood. He was suppose to be listed in the Shenandoah County Court Minute Book (1816-1821). The date is 9 Mar 1818. When I looked on ne, I found a transcription of this book, but I could not find William ackwood listed in it. Do you know if this entire book is transcribed? hank you very much for your time. ulie ----Original Message----- om: vashenan-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:vashenan-bounces@rootsweb.com] Behalf Of Chochoruss@aol.com nt: Monday, December 06, 2010 1:02 PM : vashenan@rootsweb.com bject: Re: [VASHENAN] BLACWOOD Inquiry ulie, I believe the only way you will find anything on this is to read the ewspaper for 1806 as I could find nothing in Chancery Records or diciary Records in Shenandoah County about this.
