    1. Re: [VASHENAN] WILT - chancery
    2. Lisa, Here is the story. Looks like some of the relatives bad tempers. The Shenandoah Herald 26 July 1907 Page 3, Column 3 SHOT BY BROTHER-IN-LAW George Tharp, who lives near Shaeffertown, five miles northeast of New Market in Shenandoah county, is recovering from a gunshot wound inflicted a few days ago by Philip Wilt, his brother-in-law. The shooting followed a quarrel about a garden hoe, which Wilt carried from the premises of Tharp and refused to return. During the quarrel Tharp is said to have hurled a shovel at Wilt and followed it with an ax. Wilt then went to his house, got his shotgun, and fired a load of birdshot into the back part of Tharp's neck, head and shoulder, several shot piercing his left ear. Tharp ran a short distance to his home and fell in his yard from shock and loss of blood. Dr,. J. E. Good of New Market, was phones for, and rendered the necessary surgical attention. ----------------------- Copied by Gloria Bushong
