Lisa, Here is my best educated guess on the ancestry of Samuel Wilt. I believe he might be a son of a very older Peter Wilt living in Rockingham County, Virginia in the 1840 census with a younger second wife. Samuel might have at least three half siblings named John, Lucy and Jacob. He had at least one full sister named Catherine. You'll have to find the marriage for him probably in Rockingham County. There is a Chancery Record that might or might not have some information in it. See Rockingham County Record 1894-110: George Miller VS Adm. of John Fawley. Names involved are Fawley, Johnson, Knisey, Miller, Sager, Tussing, Whetstore, and Wilt. There is a Will involved but this might or might not have any bearing. Can't read on-line.
