My ancestor, John Macanturf, applied for a grant from Lord Fairfax in 1762 but died before he received title. His sons did get title. This land was near McInturff Gap, now Edinburg Gap. Our family is inter-married with the Clem's and Ritenour's, Munch and many of the Fort families...........Eugene By the way, if your new book mentions Gravelly Run, or some variation of this, I'd love to locate it. Another ancestor, James & Jane Grubbs, received a grant of 140 acres 175-1762 on Gravelly Run on Passage Creek.
