A Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Pataskala United Methodist Church, 458 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH. Interment to followed at Pataskala Cemetery, Pataskala, OH. Lela was born on December 16, 1927 in Pataskala, OH to the late Clyde and Lena (Harmon) Fravel. Lela was very active in the Pataskala United Methodist Church and would most often be seen in the kitchen. She was a member of the Pataskala Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and helped with the Meals on Wheels Program. She was an avid OSU Buckeye and Reds Fan. Lela is survived by her loving children, Kenneth (Carolyn) Searls of Pataskala, Jeri (Bucky) Mowrey of Newark, Janet (Rick) Conaway of Pataskala, Charles Ivan (Tracy) Searls of MS; sister, Fannie Fravel of Pataskala; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many dear friends. Along with her parents; Lela is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Opie Searls, Jr. The Family received friends at Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in loving memory of Lela to the Pataskala United Methodist Church Kitchen Fund.
