Hello List, Browntown VA Boyd family. Can anyone connect with my family of Boyds?  I don't have very much on the Boyds who left the Warren Co., VA area. Obiturary-In 1891-Warren Co.,VA, Mr. William  Boyd, brother of Henry P. and Stephen D. Boyd, and father of Henry P. Jr., and A.O.Boyd, of Kansas City, MO, and the late William Boyd, banker of Decatur, Illinois.  Of the two surviving sons, only Henry Prather .Jr., was with his father in his last hours.  William was born October 20, 1805, and interred in the Boyd family graveyard near Browntown.             Obituary-Henry Prather Boyd died at the residence of Col. Lloyd T. Jennings, about one mile from his own home, in Warren Co.,VA  on Wednesday,  February 28, 1894, aged 65y, and 17days.  Son of Col. John and Frances Boyd, born at the old Boyd homestead about 6 miles S of Front Royal, was the youngest of 13 children, and a brother of our townsman, Steven Decatur Boyd.  In youth he joined Methodist Episcopal Church.  He lost his father when he was 5 years old.  His mother Frances died in 1871, aged 86 years.  He was married twice, his first wife, Miss Carrie Woodward (daughter of Maj William Woodward) only survived her marriage about 4 ½ months; his second marriage was (since the war) to Miss Laura O. King, daughter of Col..Issac Newton King, of Front Royal, he was again bereaved of his wife.  He was at the battle of Bull Run and Manassas.  Was carried to the hospital at Vienna, VA from the battlefield, where he was found by his brother James almost in a dying condition, who removed him to a private house nearby and afterwards to Front Royal.  He rejoined the army and joined Mosby’s command.
