Vashenan Listmates, Thanks to one of my benefactors in Shenandoah County, who sent me the following information for which I am very grateful. As you can see the tombstone for Jacob G. Rinker states "son of Jacob and Mary Rinker" so that pretty much answers my question as to which was his mother. It will forever remain a mystery as to why the clerk worded the Chancery Record the way he did. Perhaps the Clerk when recording it, couldn't read the writing clearly and put "of "but meant "over the age of fourteen" It is amazing how one word can change the meaning of a document so quickly. But now it is all clear! We were surprised to see that there was a daughter Elizabeth Rinker born to Jacob Rinker Jr. and Mary Fravel and she is not named in the Will of Jacob Rinker Jr., so she must not have lived passed infancy. ----------------------------- Revised List of the Children of Jacob Rinker Jr. CHILDREN OF JACOB RINKER JR. & MARY FRAVEL 1. RINKER daughter of Thomas and Ann Hill (Kilby) Rinker b. 1855 d. 9 June 1861.
