Good Morning Vashenan Listmates, We have a very loose end in the Bushong family. Since this family intermarried so much with the Valley families, we are putting this on the List in hopes that someone else may have a loose end in their lineage, that may connect to these Bushongs. Notice that one of the documents in the settlement of Jacob Bushong's estate below shows one of the appraisers was Christian Hottel. Jacob and Juliana had 11 children living at the time of his death. -------------------------------- Jacob Bushong married Juliana Weigel. They came from Manchester, York County, Pennsylvania. Jacob died leaving a Will in Augusta County in 1812 and he and wife are buried at Churchville. So many of the Shenandoah families went to this area. He did not name his children individually in his Will but he had one son named Jacob and a ton of daughters. His brothers lived in Shenandoah County and he owned land in Shenandoah, Rockingham, Augusta and Pendleton Counties at various times. He also served in the Revolutionary War. This Jacob Bushong is not to be confused with Jacob Bushong, son of Peter Bushong and Barbara Wenger, and who married Catharine Cline. (Boschong Archives April 2007). To see all of our posts on the family of Jacob Bushong and Juliana Weigel go to the BOSCHONG Archives at Rootsweb for January 2005, January 2007, May 2007, January 2010, February 2010, and March 2010 among others. ------------------------------- Augusta County Virginia Will Book 11 Pages 124-126 3 April 1812 Agreeable to an order of Court we the appraisers have made an Inventory of the Property of Jacob Bushong, deceased, this third day of April one thousand eight hundred and twelve and is as follows viz.
