Gloria, The birth year is my est. based on the "fact" his first "known" child, John BUSHONG, Jr. was born on 19 Jan 1781. I figure they were married in early 1780. No birth control. The preference age for a German male to marry is 22 years; however, 18 to 22 years is more realistic----so I give him to be 20 years old at the time of marriage and Elizabeth no more than 18 years old at the time of marriage. SO----20 years old at the time of a 1780 marriage= John BUSHONG born ca.. 1760. The death year is your est. which I agree with considering the marriage bondman's issues that you described plus that would have him to be approximately 79 years old when he died. What bothers me is that number one wife: Elizabeth probably died after the birth of John BUSHONG in Jan of 1781 OR there are more unknown children OR she was unable to have more children over the rest of her life. Based on the birth dates of number two wife: Magdalene BAUSERMAN's children starting in about 1802 for Lucy, the couple were married about 1801----the question becomes "Did John stay single aka widowed from 1781 until 1801, in the prime of his life, with a child to raise? That is what bothers me. SEE those BUSHONGs do drive you crazy! Chocy
