There are a ton of Corders just over the mountain east of Page Co., VA. Try Fauquier and Culpeper Co. records. The Ruffners were from what is now Page Co., VA (formerly Shenandoah Co). William Corder was in Shenandoah Co., VA in the 1810 and 1820 (Pine Forge twp.) census. I believe Pine Forge is near Smith Creek, just north of New Market, VA. I don't know about owning land in Shen. Hi folks, George Corder was in Joshua Ruffner's Co of Infantry, 6th Regiment VA Militia when he released from the War of 1812. He was discharged from Carn X road which was 120 miles from his home. The Corders did not own land in ShenCo. If I could figure out where Carn X roads was located, it might give me a clue as to where the Corder family lived. So far, my maps and mapping programs have failed to locate Carn X road. Any ideas? Nancy
