These aren't OBITs, sorry at first I took them as obits, but they were written by their child and or children or family members that appeared in news papers. Martha Patsey McKnight (McNite) Patsey Pierson was born April 29th 1818, died July 26th 1907 aged 89 years, 2 months, and 27 days. She professed religion and joined the Baptist Church at Red hill about the year 1843 or 1844. About 9 o'clock the day she died she asked the time of day, she told her grand daughter to take the pillows from under her head, She said her head would soon be lower than that. She then said, I want you all to be quiet and make no noise. She said she wanted to die and get out of her suffering. She then said don't grieve after me. T then asked her, Mother do you feel ready and willing to die? She said yes, I am ready. She then said tell little Johnny Stokes and Frank Davis to come in. She shook Johnnie's hand and said several times be a good boy. About 4 o'clock she closed her eyes and mouth and died with out a struggle. signed J.P. Pierson Jean Brand 2254 W.
