GATE CITY, Va. Cecil (Chiefy) Eugene Kinkead, 63, entered into rest on Sunday (Oct. 8, 2000). He was born Jan. 31, 1937 in Scott County, Va., and was previously employed for the City of Kingsport and Little and Adams Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Ingle; stepfather, Charlie (Chuck) Hensley; and stepbrother, Elmer Hensley. Surviving are his daughter, Nina Kinkead Taylor, Kingsport; granddaughter, Hali Stanton, Kingsport; mother, Mattie Kinkead Hensley, Gate City, Va.; brothers, Homer (Toke) Hensley, Billy Hensley, Sidney (Ruke) Hensley and Brodis Hensley, all of Ft. Blackmore, Va., Roy (Doss) Hensley and Jim Hensley, both of Gate City, Va.; one sister, Bertha Dean, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; ex-wife Kate Kinkead Nelms, Kingsport; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many loving friends; half-sisters, Betty Fields and Fredda Clark, both of Church Hill, Wanda Kern, Rye Cove, Va., JoAnn Duncan, Duffield, Va., and Judy Williams, Gate City, Va.; and half-brother, Ray Ingle, Coeburn, Va. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the home of the mothers residence, Mattie Hensley, Gate City, Va., and Kate Nelms, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Otto Gibson and Cecil Kern officiating. Music will be provided by Junior Smith and the Family Tradition. Burial will be at the Lawson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, Va.
