FORT BLACKMORE, Va. — Mary Lucille Edwards Brickey, 81, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday (Oct. 8, 2000) at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Brickey was born in Scott County, Va. on Nov. 21, 1918. She was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Ben Edwards and Bessie Thompson Bowser. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alfred Brickey; three sisters, Frances Dickerson, Hazel Smith, and Edna Owens; and one brother, J.E. Hall. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bobby W. Cassell, Nickelsville, Va.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Maxie and Roger Sharp, and Ms. Jean Hall Bradley, both of Farmington Hills, Mich.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lori and Neal Roberts, Kingsport; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Cassell, Clinchport, Va.; great-granddaughter, Carli Cheyenne Cassell; and great-grandson, John-Logan Hunter Cassell. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence of the daughter, Deborah Cassell. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Riley Boy and the Rev. Mack Sanders officiating. Music will be provided by Shelby Greear, James McConnell and Jamie Begley. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va. The family will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy Brickey, Ronnie Brickey, Jack Dockery, Mack Dockery, J.M. Dorton, and John Michael Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Brickey, James M.
