BLACKWATER, Va. Clara Bernice Robinette, 74, entered into rest on Monday (Oct. 2, 2000) at Indian Path Medical Center. Miss Robinette was born in Scott County, Va. Aug. 25, 1926 and was the daughter of the late James Wesley and Charmie Berry Robinette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Georgia Ann Calhoun Robinette; brother-in-law, Benton Hampton; two nieces and one nephew. Surviving are three sisters and brothers-in-law, Reba and Ray Chapman, Kingsport, Margaret Hampton, Blackwater, Va., and Maude and Elmer Gardner, Church Hill; one brother and sister-in-law, William J. Bill and June Robinette, Blackwater, Va.; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Opal Salyers and Junior and Norma Smith. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Robinette Family Cemetery, Route 603, Blackwater, Va. Pallbearers will be Garry Berry, Doug Gardner, Rodney Gardner, Scott Chapman, Steve Chapman and Bill Duncan. The family will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
