This is one of the few that my cousin Jean Pierson sent me along with many marriage and death certificates as well as old pictures. Just thought I'd share with you.. Hiram N. Pierson In the passing of Hiram N. Pierson at his home at 7:30 Wednesday morning, April 12th, 1944, this community, this county, lost one of it's outstanding citizens. He was the son of Wheeler and Nancy Jane McDavid Pierson. He was born August 23rd 1889, age 55 years, eight months and twenty days. On December 21st 1910, he was married to Carrie Peters, and to this union were born four children: Glenn, Allen and Billie , all of Gate City, Virginia. One child died in infancy. This home has been a Christian home. Hiram professed faith in Christ when he was very young. He was always active in every community and public betterment. He was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist Church having been baptized by Elder J. P. Peters. So sleep on, dear husband and father, until Jesus comes the second time, then we will meet together to part no more. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is still; A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. Written by his wife, Carrie Pierson Jean Brand 2254 W.
