My ggrandfather was Nelson Barnett b. 1840 . >Nelson married Bettie ? in Floyd Co. they had 5 children John L., Frank, Taylor, Kate and Eliza. John L. Barnett was my grandfather. He was born in Floyd Co. in 1869. I am not sure of the exact time they left Ky. but John married ? and had one daughter Minnie. His wife was pregnant with their second child when Nelson and his whole family moved to Texas. John brought Minnie with him , it was around 1892or 93. The second child was also a girl and was named Nora. Minnie and Nora did not meet until they were in their sixties. The Barnetts settled in Williamson Co., Tx. for a while then moved on to Clay Co, Tx. In 1894 John m. Alice Josephine Farar daughter of James S and Martha Farar. John and Josie had the following children: Charles Ray 1895, Lydia 1898, John Wesley 1900, James Nelson 1902, Bettie 1904 d. 1907, June 1907( male), Mae 1909, and Lennie Belle 1915.
