Ray Steely, 67, Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2000. He graduated from Williamsburg High School and was on the football team. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Charles and Martha Steely; and four brothers, Aubrey, Frank, Rev. Jesse Virgil and Louis Gaines Steely. He is survived by his wife, Laura Grubbs Steely; two sons, Alan Steely and Vernon Keith Steely; two sisters, Laura Belle Young and June Rains Bugg; two brothers, Charles Eugene Steely and Don Steely; also several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 11 at the Creek Road Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born November 4, 1933 in Springfield to the late Homer Brady, Sr. and Geneva Gordon Brady. A sister, Sarah Similey, and three brothers, Sidney Brady, Homer Brady, Jr., and Bob Brady, also preceded her in death. A former physicians" office worker, she had attended the United Methodist Church and been state president of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority. Mrs. Elliott was also a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Reed Elliott of Louisville, formerly of Corbin; a daughter, Holly Baldwin; three granddaughters, Ashley, Alexis, and Taylor Baldwin; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Brady, all of Louisville; also several nieces and nephews, Charles Brady, Cindy Brady, John Similey, Stephen Similey, Kelly Brady, Shannon Brady, Bob Brady, Jr., and Eden Ann Brady. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 31 at the O"Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment was in the Pine Hill Cemetery. He is survived by his sister, Minnie Murphy of Williamsburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., November 1 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Carpenter and Rev.
