Coy Mcnutt Gate City -- Coy Malon Mcnutt, 83, of Route 4 Gate City, (in Hilton's Community), died early Friday morning at Holston Valley Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Scott County, VA and was retired from J.E. Marrs Contractors as a carpenter. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and attended the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Porter Mcnutt, Gate City; three sons, James R. Mcnutt and Doug Mcnutt, both of Gate City; and Cecil Mcnut , Gate City; two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Gardner and Mrs. Betty Frazier, both of Kingsport; two brothers, Thurman Mcnutt, Kingsport and Bob Mcnutt, Jonesboro, Ind; one sister, Mrs. Verna Gentry, Kingsport; seven grandchildren.
