Wayne, What a wonderful site. I am really enjoying this. I have a photo of the Roda, VA, mining camp area. My Aunt Eva Harris of Bristol, VA sent it to me. She had clipped it from the Newspaper, The Post, Big Stone Gap, VA, Sept. 1, 1977. I don't know the date of the original photo, but the caption reads, "Roda was a thriving beehive of activity when this picture was taken." She put a check mark on one house. She said, she wasn't sure which family members house it was now, but believed it to be my grandparents, E.W. & Birdie Harris. (she was formerly Birdie Jane Davis, dau. of George Davis & Sarah E. Surgener (Surgenor). It's a great over view, a 12" X 6 1/2". I'll see if I can figure how to scan it best & get it to you.
