List, Since others are beginning to inquire - sent Wanda Bledsoe an e-mail requesting the status of the reprinting and for a projected date of release. As soon as I hear from her I will post her response for all to see. She may jump on and post herself - so keep your eyes open. Please continue to have patience. Remember the Scott County Retired Teachers Association puts these out. They told us from the onset that they could only begin the reprint when they have 2/3rds of the required minimum in prepaid orders. Many of you sent your payments in back in October 2000 - still others sent them in back in November 1999 when the subject was brought up. There are some on this list that have the book and would happily do look-ups if you provide specific information for them. They have graciously done so for myself. Volume One has been out of print and will not be reprinted!! It can be found at the Scott County library (and possibly other local county libraries) for your browsing. When the SCRTA began this series, they had locl businesses sponsor them. First time out it was the SC Library who chose to retain the reprint rights as part of the deal. I don't think the SCRTA knew how well the books would be received and sought after. They didn't make the same mistake with the second volume when they negotiated with their sponsor. That is why they are able to have it reprinted. For those of you who might be interested in submitting your family history/photo/story the following was posted back in November 2000. *** From the "Briefs" Section of Scott County Virginia Star, Wednesday, November 15, 2000: The Scott County Retired Teachers Association states they are discussing compiling Vol. III of Scott History. They state that if they can gather 200 stories, they plan to go ahead. If you have a story, contact a retired teacher or send your story to: Scott County Retired Teachers P.O. Box 1027 Gate City, VA 24251 *** Good luck! Maria [email protected]
