Hi Ron, Thanks for the email, but I'm just passing along the info I had from an earlier Scott County BB posting. I am forevermore "The Messenger" ha! The person {I 'm pretty sure} who is the contact person on the book is Beth Culbertson. She gets the same copies of all postings that we all get. So by posting a new message, with her name requested to reply, may get you the information you seek. Also, many other SCRTA members get these postings also, and could possibly know the answer to your question. This is why I'm answering you question as well as posting the reply. This should help to at least stir-up some other replies from more knowledgeable folks than myself. Beth Culbertson is the Treasurer of the Scott County Retired Teachers Association. The SCRTA are the ones who are the minds behind producing these volumes. I wish EVERY county had the same group of dedicated folks who continuously honor ' us students ' with their continued generosity and gifts of living memorials. It's a wonderful thing that here are a group of Teachers that have long been retired, STILL offering to teach all of us a lesson in history, civics and duty. These books, as you know, are the contributions of MANY folks, as a gift and reflection of their years of hard dedicated work. Many of these folks, like myself, aren't even residents there, but are hot in their pursuits genealogy research and just plain memory preservation! My Grandfather, William Wallace Wood, was born in Gate City in 1889. His Famous Uncle's were: Henry Clinton Wood, James Harvey Wood, Martin B. Wood. To me, these books are a kind of repository of priceless collections to be enjoyed, researched and be (made) available for display and access for posterity. I have vol's I and II, but haven't ordered the third, since I don't know if my relatives are in that book. Maybe when you get your copy, we can exchange information on our respective families. Scott County folks are {In my opinion} The VERY BEST when it comes to documenting family history and SHARING that same history with other such researchers like myself. And they don't hold it against me because I reside in MARYLAND! ha! All my best, William M. 'Bill' Wood P.S. Here are some of the names of my other relations in Scott, Russell, Washington, Lee Va Counties, as well as Sullivan Counties Tenn. {looks like a roll-call} WOOD, TAYLOR, QUILLIN, QUILLEN, LAWSON, GODSEY, PIPPIN, memorymaker@comcast.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ronald Whitaker" <whitaker@frognet.net> To: "Bill Wood" <memorymaker@comcast.net> Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2003 1:03 PM Subject: Re: [VASCOTT-L] Scott Co Book > Bill.
