Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 840 along with the prospective United Daughters of the Confederacy Harry Carter Stuart Chapter are attempting to locate and list the graves of Confederate soldiers who are buried in Russell County. These two groups are offering to work with the family of these soldiers to have military markers placed at their grave. If you have an ancestor who served in the Confederate Army and is buried in Russell County, please send his name and the name and location of the cemetery as well as any information about his military service that you might have.
