I am looking for information on my grand father Ambrose Taylor. He lived in Scott County Virginia around the 1870's-1919 era. The stories we have been told was he was the town Marshal or sheriff for Scott County. I was wondering if anyone has came across any documentation of this? Or his name at all on records. He could have went by Ambrose Christopher Taylor or Christopher Ambrose Taylor, we have conflicting documents on the first two names, even though his civil war pension and marriage licience has Ambrose Christopher Taylor.
