I still have not been able to discover the surname for Rachel Johnston w/o Campbell Johnston. I am listing the names of their 15 children in the hope that there may be a birth record listing Rachel's surname. 1840 Census shows Campbell Johnston in Smythe Co. William H. Miller iv. James Campbell Johnston b. Aug 1845 v. William R. Johnston b. 1847 vi. Peter Johnston b. 1850 (I suspect Peter died before 1860.) vii. Rebecca Johnston b. 1854 viii. Lydia A. Johnston b. 1855 m. Gardner Tomlinson ix. Squire Johnston b. 21 Oct 1857 (Possibly have Squire and Eliza's birth reversed.) x. Eliza Johnston b. 1858 m. William Harris xi. Walter Johnston b. 1859 xii. Julia A. Johnston b. 1862 m. James Bledsoe xiii. Berilla Johnston b. 1864 xiv. Thomas Johnston b. 1866 xv. Rosanna Johnston b. 1870 Also, Campbell Johnston dies in Lee Co. in 1885. In 1870, he and Rachel are still in Scott. Co. Campbell may have moved in with a child after the death of Rachel. Perhaps there is a death record in Scott Co. for Rachel Johnston between 1870 and 1885. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Corinne
