    3. Pat, and list, Phyllis Peterson's has done great research for her books, covers many census, marriages, etc. I for one wouldn't do anything to interfere with her great work, but on the other hand, I do think I have the right as well as others to share our photos and lineage. I don't believe all the information for anyone that ever lived in Scott Co., VA is in storage at the Gate City Court House! I don't believe everyone that had ancestors in Scott CO., VA owns a computer either! When I have been asked where they can get books on Scott Co., VA that is reliable, I refer them to Phyllis. I share my information as I would like persons to share with me and many have. I don't see where there is a problem, unless the list lets it become a problem! Jean Lewellen Brand Fresno CA

    3. Jean, I'm sorry. It was not my intention to cause any trouble or hard feelings. I'm new to all this, and didn't understand what Pat was doing. I thought I was being helpful and "sharing" when I told about Phyllis' books. In the future, I'll try to be more careful about how I word my messages. Pat and Brenda have set me straight on what's being done, and I think it's great! I absolutely agree with you about there being no one place for all information. I just can't imagine trying to do genealogy without the Internet and all the sharing it offers. We do indeed have the right to share our photos and lineage with others. I appreciate your response, and I hope there's no hard feeling. Carol
