All of her records and pictures were destroyed. This would have been during the 1920's and 1930's. Thank you Joyce [email protected]

    1. [VASCOTT-] Update notice for website
    2. Hi All: Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone's was enjoyable. In my homesick mood, I spent some of the day creating new pages for my website. I added some state historical markers, some new coal mine stories and modified some files to hopefully make them easier to load. The index URL is: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~duncanrw I hope to continue adding information. If you have any historical photos, documents, stories, recollections, or biographies and are willing to share them for the website, please contact me. I am committed to keeping our research free! As always, I welcome your comments. The mail traffic on the lists seems to slow down during the holdiay period. I'd like to increase the volume! I'd love to see your information, questions, etc. on the lists. Together, we can make a difference! Sincerely yours, Wayne Duncan

And we should be mindful and appreciative of the trials and tribulations of past generations. Imagine yourself and family on the frontier, or even in a small town or village, in the year 1816. Most of our ancestors were farmers during this period, relying entirely upon the land and their own labors to provide the very basic of needs, that being food. Imagine yourself in the year 1816. 1816 - the year without a summer January and February 1816 were warm and springlike. March was cold and stormy. Vegetation had gotten a good start in April, but then winter conditions set in. Sleet and snow fell on 17 days in May that year. In June there was frost or snow every night but three. Snow measured five inches deep for several days in succession in the interior of New York and from 10 inches to three feet of snow was reported in Vermont and Maine. July was cold and frosty and ice formed as thick as window panes in every one of the New England states. August was even worse. Ice formed an inch thick on everything green. In the spring of 1817, corn that had been kept over from the crop of 1815 sold for $5 to $10 a bushel for the buyers purchasing for seed. 1. [VASCOTT-] ReThought For Your Day...23 NOV.2000
    2. I know, I know, it is religion, and I am feeling the need to transfer to you this beautiful expression of FAITH that came to me this am. Wishing you the bestest day, wishing that all could fast this day and know the presence of our CREATOR. For those of you that are Native know that I too share your deep emotions of this day. Be safe and know that I am holding you close. Twanda Psalm 25:8-15 "Who then, is the man that fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him..... The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them" (Psalm. 25:12, 14) When we revere the Lord and walk in His ways, He chooses to share His heart with us. I have many acquaintances, but only a few significant friends with who I am comfortable sharing my inner thoughts and dreams. A bond of trust must be established before we feel the freedom to confide in one another. This bond is usually based on the conviction that our friends want the best for us and have consistently proved their loyalty. God longs for close fellowship with us. But, just as in human relationships, a track record of trust needs to be established. He won't share His secrets nor reveal His holiness to those who carelessly handle His love and ignore His moral standards.
