    1. Hills and Hollers Update
    2. Hi All: I have been quiet for most of the week, engrossed in updating the pages of Hills and Hollers. I added a short bio of myself, another 15 death certs (provided by Rhonda and the Wise County Historical Society, and transcribed two articles about the CCC from the AQ magazine. Also added announcement about St. Charles High School Reunion. Lastly, I updated the links page. Thought there would be a greater demand for entries into the Fallen Miners' page but it has been very quiet. I'll happily add entries and short bios. I'm planning on transcribing some more articles as time permits. I hope everyone is finding something interesting on the pages. Sincerely, Wayne Duncan Hills and Hollers Webmaster <A HREF="http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~duncanrw">http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~duncanrw</A> List Admin for: SWVA-NETN-SEKY-CHAT-L BIBLE-RECORDS-L MIGRATION-PATTERNS-L STATE-HISTORICAL-MARKERS-L

    1. TYREE
    2. Payne, Carol
    3. Can anyone help me find the Rosedale homestead and the home graveyard? I am looking for the graves of James TYREE, (b. abt 1814; d, abt 1877), and his three wives, two of whom would be Mary Elizabeth (Hall) TYREE (b. abt 1825; d. abt 1850) and Polly (Young) TYREE (b. abt 1825). My grandfather typed a note on his 68th birthday (5/6/1929): "A dear old father and mother lie sleeping side by side in the home graveyard in the old Apple Orchard. My father planted these trees, he told me, with his own hands. All his dead are buried there except four." I also have a photo labled "Rosedale VA 7/19/24" "Rosedale" may have been the name of the town, but I think it more likely that it is the name of the family farm in Scott County, VA. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Carol [email protected]

    2. Sarah Ann Roepke
    3. I would like to contact anyone researching these Gibson families in the census mentioned above. I would like to know the family connections of the Gibsons in this census. Does any one know which Zachariah Gibson this is? Was he the Zachariah Gibson who married a Charity Unknow, the son of Ezekial Gibson who was in Floyd Co. KY 1810? Knowing just who this Zach. is may help me in breaking down my brick wall. It appears that if these are his children he was married before or else all of these young people listed are his children?????? Appreciate your time and help. We really would love to find members of the Fortner and Wheatley families especially. If you have any information on the families listed below or can get in touch with any of their descendants, please reply or have them get in touch with me. 3. Mornin' list, I was poking around at the USGS website and was able to pull up a list of all the cemeteries it has listed in Scott Co. I know it is not a complete listing and I know some of the ones listed are not actually in Scott Co. (but in neighboring counties), but it is a pretty good start. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~drakefam/scottphotos/headstones/cemeteries.htm All of these cemeteries can be found on the USGS mapping site at: http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html and they should also be available at Topozone (my favorite) http://www.topozone.com If anyone out there would like to volunteer to help link these names to the actual topozone maps, please let me know! thanks, pat
