He married Rosa Mendenhall and they had one son, Grover Cleveland Seymore who was born in Scott County 12/31/1888 and died in Lee County on 1/31/1942. I am researching Archelaus (Archibald) D. Hale b. 1815. He married first Elizabeth, later Louisa Young. He is the father of Drayton Hale whom married Catherine Darutha Frazier. I have a bit of information on Drayton, but always welcome more. My quest right now is in finding the parents of Archelaus' parents. I am gathering information on James H. Mann b. 1872. He married Rosalia Hale. His mother was Sarah McConnell Strong (daughter Of Abraham Berry McConnell and widow of Samuel Strong) and his father was John A. Mann. I am interested in any information available, but my biggest quest is the burial place of John A. Mann, whom I know almost nothing about.

John Loyd, Revolutionary war soldier, born 1763 Cumberland Co. Va. later lived in Surry Co. N.C., Washington Co, Scott Co, and Russsell Co. Va. The 1817-1780 tax lists of Scott Co. show Benjamin, Pleasant, John, John Sr. and Thomas. Other possible siblings are Sarah (Sally) who was my g grandmother. married Jacob Back, and Charlotta, who married Nathaniel Potter, and Nicholas Loyd of Wayne Co. Ky, and Alabama. My brick wall is my great grandfather, William F. Gibson, born c. 1834 in Kentucky. I can't find his parents or any further than him. William's father was born in Virginia and his mother in Kentucky. William was married twice--first to a woman from Ft. Worth, Texas and they had five kids. After the Civil War, William came back to Scott County--Dungannon and met my great grandmother, Alafare Barnett. Their children were Hiram, born Kentucky, John Calvin(my grandfather), born Kentucky 1871, Nancy Elizabeth, born Kentucky, Mary and Rosa, born Scott County, Va. and William, born 1887, Lee County, Va. Hi: I am seeking information on Rev John Pendleton and Jamia Kilgore families. Rev John was born in Amherst CO. VA. married about 1812..... not sure what County. Rev. John and Jamia left Scott County about 1850, went to Lee County VA.... Then in 1858, Rev John and wife Jamia and several of their children and family members left Lee County VA by wagon train and came to Farmersville, TX in Collin County. They are both buried in the Pendleton Cemetery near there. He died 10-11-1861 and Jamia died 5-28-1868. I have photos of their tomb stones, will share with any one working on these families. Hello All: I am searching for any information on Enoch Fisher (my 2nd great-grandfather, born Feb 1857)) and his wife Mary? who had a child named Isabelle Fisher (born March 1879, died November 1951) who eventually married John D. Scalf in Scott County. The marriage of Isabelle and John produced eight children I am aware of, one of which was Cora Scalf. (my grandmother, born 1901, died 1985).
