Lydia was only 6 years old when Elizabeth was born. Elizabeth P. Jackson's mother was actually John Hunt Jackson's first wife, Sarah Jackson, who was his first cousin, d/o Eli Jackson & Elizabeth Hunt. Also, William Nash Kelly didn't die at Fredericksburg. He died 12 Apr 1862 at Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond where he had been admitted on 17 Mar 1862 with continual fever. Mike
Thanks Mike, I got my info from someone else without double checking it.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael A. Mike, I knew that Elizabeth's mother was Sarah but did not know she was JHJackson's 1st cousin. Thanks for the info. Do you know what her middle initial P. stands for? I'm being told by some that it is Patrick same as Lydia Ann Patrick Owens -- wife #2. Is there a Patrick connection of some type & do you know who the parents of Lydia Ann were? As you know, I descend from William Nash Kelly & Elizabeth P. Jackson thru their son James Henry Kelly. However, I also descend from Miles Levi Compton & Louisa Octavia Jackson (dau. of JHJackson & LAPOwens) thru their dau. Lydia Margaret Compton. That is a double, maybe a triple whammy if the Patrick name is connected. Below is where JHJ & LAPOJ are buried. Any idea where Elizabeth P. Jackson is buried (she is listed in the 1900 census in Buchanan Cty. Garden Dist. #6 with widow son-in-law Hiram Keen who was married to her dau. Virginia -- could she be buried on Keen Mt?) or Louisa Octavia Jackson is buried (some say Stacy, VA for Louisa)? WNKelly's body was probably buried at Oak Wood Cemetery in Richmond although I have no proof & MLCompton is buried in Louisa Cty., VA near Cuckoo on his home place. I'm not aware they ever lived in Harlan or Knox counties. Located on Virginia Secondary Road #638 in Whitewood, VA. The cemetery has been recently cleaned up (as of August 1999). There are three stones still in place and legible. JACKSON, John H. b. Feb. 3, 1806 d. August 1, 1894 JACKSON, Lydia A. b. March 28, 1822 d. Jan. 21, 1885 COMPTON, Sarah J. b. August 15, 1894 d.
