First I have to ask you, are you related to Childresses from Buchanan County? My mother was a Childress, Wattie Gay, daughter of James Arvil Childress and Nora Florence Stacy. They were from Buchanan County and moved to Swords Creek in Russell County. I haven't started researching them, although I have an aunt that has done some. Just interested. James Marion Hubbard is my second gr-grandfather. He is the son of Edmond Hubbard, who is the son of Randolph Hubbard. Elizabeth would have been the sister of Edmond Hubbard and aunt of James Marion. The only wife I have for him is Mariah Dye. He was b. abt 1847 in Ashe Co., N.C. and married Mariah Dye on 10/20/1876. His mother was Delphia Viars/Bare. Mariah was born 12/1859, her father was Henry Dye and Rachel Taylor-Dye. His marriage date is the same as you have for Martha E. Moran. I know my info is correct. Now, he possible he married Judith Delphia Belcher first, no one seems to know anything about that in the family, but for a fact he married Mariah Dye. Their children were 1) my gr-grandmother Cordelia Hubbard, b. 8/17/1877, d/ 11/1963, m.Charlie Ira Melvin Perkins on 12/30/1893. 2) William, no info on him yet, 3) Floury Caldony b. abt. 1871 and m. George W. Fuller on 12/23/1892; 4) James Marion Hubbard, Jr. b. 3/1882; I5) Ira Hubbard, b. 1883, m. Polly Unknown; ! 6) Lily Hubbard b. 9/1885, m. Charles Hall on 1/21/1902; 7) Larkin L. Hubbard b. 4/1892, d. 1921, m. Lizzie Unknown; 8) Edmond Hubbard b. 4/4/1879, d. 3/10/1879; 9) Melvin, no info yet. If you would like more info let me know and I will be glad to share it with you.
