John Hunt Jackson and Sarah Melinda? had a daughter, Ellen. Ellen Jackson(John H., Levi, Simeon) married Andrew Jackson(AJ)in Russell County. He was from Patrick Co., Va. They lived in Lee Co. for a while but returned to Russell and settled on Kent's Ridge in the New Garden district above Sword's Creek. Many of their descendants still live there today. Ellen married a second time after AJ's death to William Vance. Wm. Vance was a widower. He was a s/o of Wm Vance, Sr. and Margaret Rice. Andrew J. Reynolds grandfather, Jesse Reynolds Sr. was a 1st cousin to Bernard Reynolds of Russell County (b. 1763). Their common ancestors are Richard Reynolds and Mary Anderson. Richard Reynolds was a grandson of Christopher Reynolds of Isle of Wight Co., Va. These Reynolds families originated in Gravesend, Kent County, England.
