I also looked for them in 1900 and 1910. I couldn't find either Cornelius or Socia. They both must have died 1880-1900. In 1860 they were in Wise County, Va. You should try to locate Socia's death record, if you know when and where she died. What about Cornelius and Socia's marriage record? These might list her parents. What about Socia's brother's and sisters? If you know who they were, you could check their marriage and death records for parents. One more possibility is Absalom's will, if he died testate. According to the book, Between Brothers by Lillian Gobble and Rhonda Robertson, Cornelius is listed in the 1890 Union Veterans Census in Dickenson Co VA. Not my direct line but it is of my son's girlfriend, she descends from daughter Caroline Baker who married Henderson Baker son of John Baker and Elizabeth Gordon , grandson William Efferson Baker who married Lisa Stallard (currently a brick wall, help!); great-granddaughter Elcie Baker who married Hamilton Blevins, great-great grandson Willy Blevins who married Alice Baker (also a brick wall, help!); great-great-great grandson Kenneth Blevins who married Judy Mullins, then my son's girlfriends parents, then her. Hope the tip about Dickenson county helps, if anyone can help with Lisa Stallard and Alice Baker I would appreciate it -Deborah Thompson Clarkston ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randy Crouse McNew" <windwalker1@comcast.net> To: <VARUSSEL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 23, 2005 12:43 AM Subject: RE: [VARUSSEL] BAKER - HAMON > > I also looked for them in 1900 and 1910.
