Mary, Forgive my taking some time, as my email was down for five days, and I just got it going again last night and have slowly been going through email. I have looked at my MONK information today, and for all these names. You have discovered James M. Monk and his father, James B. Monk, in my database at www.jessee.org <http://www.jessee.org/> . I have very incomplete information about this family, but much more on Nancy E. Jessee, who is my 2nd cousin 3 times removed. Certainly your Martha Ann Monk could have been an unrecorded, by me, sister in that family, but I have no proof and no other information or photos to help. I will share this with the Russell County and Jessee Lists, and hope someone else may be able to help you. I will ask that they respond to include you by directly using your email address, as you may not be a subscriber to those lists. I recommend you join the Russell Co. List and post your inquiry about the MONK family. Monk and Nancy C. Jessee. My husband's mother was Birdie Seals and her mother was Martha Ann Monk. I have found Martha Ann in the census with James M. Monk and Nancy with sisters Mary E., and brothers Charley, Chris, and George, born dead. I don't know for sure if the connection is with James Monk and Nancy Jessee. The only thing for sure that I know is Martha Ann Monk was my husband's mother's mother and Virginia and Tennesee are the states before they moved to Texas. Do you have any information that would help me connect Martha Monk with James and Nancy? If I am right and these are my husband's relatives, do you have pictures of any of the family. My husband and his siblings know next to nothing about their family and I am trying to find out for them. I appreciate your help. Thank you, Mary Holt
